Prepare yourself for the ultimate guide to the best Easter eggs in the UK. I’ll lead you on a visual journey, all the while wishing I could waft the smells and shove the tastes through the computer screen right into your face.
Easter used to be my favourite holiday, back when my family exchanged eggs and came together to eat a massive roast. But then I grew up, the tradition was abandoned, and I sort of let it pass me by until now. This year I’ve got relatives kids to buy for, and isn’t it amazing how infectious the excitement of children is? That, and I spotted a whole bunch of yummy looking eggs I decided I’d much rather buy for myself than give to them…
Easter’s a time to indulge yourself in whatever you love, whether you’re religious or not, and whether you like chocolate or you’d much rather get more practical (and frankly, better looking) things for Spring. So take a look at not only the absolute best Easter eggs you can buy right now but also the best Easter egg offers I could find too.

The Best Easter Eggs You Can Get In The UK
Hotel Chocolat Easter Eggs
1. The Ostrich Easter Egg from Hotel Chocolat – £75.00
2. White Easter Egg Sandwich from Hotel Chocolat – £10.00
3. You Crack Me Up Extra Thick Easter Egg from Hotel Chocolat – £27.00
Hotel Chocolat always knocks Easter right out of the park. I mean, just look at this lineup. The Ostrich Egg literally weighs 1.1kg, is the exact measurements of a real life Ostrich Egg (the kind that’s not made of chocolate) and comes with 27 egglets and truffles crammed inside of it. The shell’s not only chocolate, but packed with cookie and and crispy puffed rice. Plus it looks thicker than the side of a table so… good luck munching on that.
Yep, this is the size of an Ostrich Egg compared to the rest of the Hotel Chocolat range of eggs. The Extra Thick egg is roughly the size of a ‘large’ Easter Egg from other brands.
The egg sandwich is so creative it even comes in a typical sandwich packet, and is much smaller in case you’re actually concerned about your health. And finally, who wants a flimsy thin chocolate egg? No one that’s who. The extra thick egg doesn’t disappoint either; because if we’re honest, everyone wishes they could have a solid chocolate Easter egg rather than a hollow one.
Tesco Easter Eggs
1. ChokaBlok Billionaires Giant Easter Egg (300g) from Tesco – £5.00
2. ChokaBlok Banoffee Bonanza Giant Easter Egg (300g) from Tesco – £5.00
3. Chokablok Americam Dreamcake Giant Easter Egg (300g) from Tesco – £5.00
If you loved the look of that extra thick Easter egg from Hotel Chocolat, but the price made you choke a little, then these are a great substitute. The ChokaBlok Easter eggs from Tesco are a fantastic price for their size, come in a variety of flavours, and apparently have the thickest shell of any supermarket Easter egg. Well, I guess you’ll just have to get one and try them out for yourself to see if that’s true… for Science of course.
And if you’re just after a good deal, Tesco have one of the best offers on that I’ve seen from any shop so far. You can get any of their selected XL Tesco Easter eggs (around 331g) for just £3. Because this deal is so ridiculously good (I’ve seen many of the same Easter eggs going for £9+ at other supermarkets) they’re regularly selling out, so you’ll have to keep your eyes open for when they next stock up. At the moment, this Mini Eggs Easter egg was the only one I could find available still in the deal.
Selfridges Easter Eggs
The Chocolate Society Green Gradient White Egg from Selfridges – £24.99
The Chocolate Society Hand-Cut Blonde Egg from Selfridges – £24.99
No, these aren’t cheap for their size, I get that. But if you’re looking for an Easter egg to give to someone which will absolutely impress the socks off of them (a horrible family member?) or to really and truly treat someone, then these are perfect. The gradient egg comes in milk chocolate too, and the hand-cut blonde egg comes in a variety of flavours.
Marks And Spencer Easter Eggs
A lovely photo from The World Of Kitsch showing the range of eggs available from Marks and Spencers right now!
Now, unfortunately, I can’t link you to any of these wonderful M&S Easter eggs, because they’re only available in store. Luckily I stumbled across a lovely blogpost from Claire over at The World of Kitsch with many, many photos of the different types available. These range from the Easter eggs for children you can see above, like Frozen Easter eggs, Star Wars Easter eggs and even a Hello Kitty Easter egg, to some more luxury eggs for adults.
But the stand-out? A tweeting egg box. Yep, a real live tweeting egg box. If you want to see if in action you’ll need to pop over to Claire’s blog and watch the video she’s put up – it’s worth it!
Easter Eggs Asda
Galaxy Minstrels Large Egg (304g) from Asda – £5.00 (or 3 for £10)
Cadbury Twirl Large Easter Egg (282g) from Asda – £5.00 (or 3 for £10)
Maltesers Teasers Large Egg (283g) from Asda – £5.00 (or 3 for £10)
Ok, I’m willing to let the ‘want a bit eggstra?’ Easter line on Asda’s site slide, but only because they have a great deal on. They’ve got all of the usual Easter eggs you’d expect from them, and you can get any 3 of the large Easter eggs for just £10, which saves you £5 overall. You can buy another egg with that (more chocolate rules over saving money in my mind…).
Thorntons Easter Eggs
1. Milk Chocolate Football Fanatic Easter Egg (150g) from Thorntons – was £4.00, Now £2.50
2. White Chocolate Harry Hopalot Easter Egg (151g) from Thorntons – was £4.00, Now £2.50
3. Milk Chocolate Butterfly Easter Egg (149g) from Thorntons – was £4.00, Now £2.50
The first of Thornton’s Easter Egg deals, as illustrated by some of those yummy looking eggs for kids above, is a 5 for £15 offer. That’s any 5 eggs from Thornton’s Easter egg range here, all for £15.
1. Large White Chocolate Easter Egg (280g) from Thorntons – £7.00
2. Classics Chocolate Easter Egg (220g) from Thorntons – £7.00
3. Milk Chocolate Smiles Easter Egg (223g) from Thorntons – £7.00
And if that deal wasn’t enough, you can get 5 of Thornton’s significantly bigger eggs for just £20. You can see the full range of eggs in the Thorntons Easter eggs deal here.
There’s also a range of luxury Thorntons Easter eggs, like the hazelnut brownie one, that are some of the best Easter eggs you can get in the UK. On the run up to Easter it looks like these indulgent eggs have been dropped in price by £5, so get them now while you can!
You can see the full range of luxury Thorntons Easter eggs in the deal right here.
Dairy Free Easter Eggs
1. Milk-Free Milk Scrambled Egg (210g) from Thorntons – £15.00
2. Moo Free Bunnycomb Egg (100g) from Selfridges – was £6.99, Now £4.99
3. Milk-Free Milk Goose Egg (130g) from Thorntons – £10.00
Just because you, or a child you’re buying for can’t have dairy doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy Easter. The three eggs above are great alternatives to the traditional alternatives, with the Moo Free egg even being fine for vegans to eat. Hotel Chocolat is an expert in all types of chocolate, so even though their eggs are more expensive, you can be sure you’re getting great quality.
Have you spotted any Easter eggs you can’t believe I missed off this list? Let me know in the comments below, or over on Facebook or Twitter, and I’ll get them added straight away!
