28th November – Black Friday Deals 2014
Black Friday is an American event that happens after Thanksgiving. Basically retailers drop their prices (sometimes to ridiculously low levels) and people lose their minds. There have been tales of injury and even death with people stampeding into stores for the best Christmas shopping deals. We’ve picked up the tradition here in the UK too, but luckily you can grab them online and not have to fight tooth and nail to get the best ones.
Some online retailers do flash sales for Black Friday; continually changing up what’s discounted over the course of the day. Sometimes these sales can even last as little as just 5 minutes! But don’t worry – go ahead and follow the Sensible Reviewer Twitter for a live feed on the day of some of the ultimate Christmas deals I can find.
1st December – Cyber Monday Deals 2014
The first Monday after Thanksgiving is known as Cyber Monday. Again, this used to be an American shopping event that’s now gone global. You’ll probably notice a bunch of online retailers dropping their prices from Black Friday until late on Cyber Monday, so it’s worth keeping an eye out over this whole period for the best Christmas shopping deals. It’s usually the shops with international roots that get involved (think Amazon and ASDA), but it’s becoming more widespread year on year.
8th December – Manic Monday Deals 2014
The 8th December is around about the last time you can get items delivered from shops, and retailers always expect an online surge throughout the day of last minute Christmas present shopping. You might think this would give them reason to raise prices – but the exact opposite happens. To keep you buying from them and not one of their competitors, they drop prices and give out vouchers galore to tempt you to them.
Even though I’d never suggest leaving your Christmas present shopping this late (although I always manage to myself…), you should definitely check out the Christmas deals and see if there’s anything else you can get for a bargain price.
26th December – Boxing Day Deals 2014
Oh how we all love Boxing Day. You can choose to lounge around the house in a turkey hangover, or you can take any money you’ve been gifted down to the shops and return some presents. There’ll be discounts in store for Christmas presents and stock like Christmas wrapping paper, but do you know what’s the absolute best thing to do today? Just park your butt on your sofa with a leftover turkey and stuffing sandwich, pull out your laptop, and lazily view all the deals from the comfort of your own home. Why bother getting cold and fighting the crowds? There are some pretty sweet Christmas deals to be had on the old interwebs.
Use these sales to pick up some Christmas wrapping paper, gift bags and tags and some extra Christmas cards for 2015. You’ll be thanking yourself next Christmas when you see the prices of all those things in December!
Add these 4 dates to your diary, and remember to keep an eye on Sensible Reviewer Twitter where I’ll be posting all the best Christmas Deals on Black Friday! Are there any dates you think I’ve missed? Let me know in the comments below, or over on Twitter or Facebook.
